Day of Giving: Three Reasons to Support A+ Schools

Day of Giving

The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Day of Giving is here! Today, great organizations will receive generous donations to help them meet their missions.

We are participating in this rewarding campaign:

Here are three reasons why you should donate to us today.

1. We’ve been doing this for a long-time

We are committed to our work. For the last 12 years, we have accomplished our goals by staying on track with our mission. Thanks to the help of our donors and volunteers, we are able to positively impact students. We are dedicated to educating the public, increasing awareness and engaging the community in efforts to advance change.

2. We support every stakeholder in a student’s life

We support teachers, districts, parents, and students. We support the neighborhoods where students learn. Our diverse programming reflects this commitment. From TeenBloc, a student-focused initiative; to Parent Nation, an organized coalition of parents, we are determined to organize and unite various stakeholders for the goal of student achievement.

3. We produce evidence-based research

Every year, we produce reports that support our mission. We objectively report our findings in order to initiate the conversations for the search for reasonable solutions.

For example, during the 2014-2015 school year, the average middle school had 305 students and 18 teachers. 77% of middle school students were economically disadvantaged (receiving public assistance) (Report to the Community 2015).

We have a lot of work to do and we can continue to do that work with your generous support.

Please support us by visiting and making a thoughtful donation.
