With many principals reaching retirement age, schools across Pittsburgh will have new leadership next year: http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/news/education/principals-named-for-pittsburgh-schools-684830/.
What does this mean for you? Well with new leadership comes new opportunities to get involved in your school. If you’re a student, parent or community leader interested in supporting public education, build a relationship with this person. Help them to understand your community and school. Ask them how they are going to support great teaching in every classroom and create school climates and learning environments where teachers can teach and students can learn. Change is usually difficult, but with community support and input, we can make sure the transition to new leadership across our city goes smoothly
